Great News For Californians And Lovers of California’s Big Sur Area – Garrapata State Park To Remain Open

California’s budget crisis led to an (ill considered IMHO) decision by Governor Jerry Brown to close 70 state parks in July including Garrapata State Park, a jewel of a park along California’s Central Coast. Thanks to the Monterey Regional Park District, The Big Sur Land Trust, and possibly some other entities, the park will now remain open. We owe a debt of gratitude to all concerned who stepped up and took action to keep this important park open, maintained, and protected. You might want to thank the Big Sur Land Trust with a donation.
